Crayola Rebrand and Packaging

Junior Year: Fall

This project focused on creating a cohesive packaging system rather than a one-off design. I redesigned packaging for three related Crayola products, emphasizing consistency, scalability, and creative problem-solving within real-world production constraints. Each package was designed at a different size while maintaining a unified visual system.

The process required consideration of materials, structure, and construction, ensuring each design could be physically printed and assembled. Rather than relying solely on traditional boxed packaging, the designs explore creative solutions such as sleeves, wraps, and structural elements that integrate seamlessly with the product and cannot be easily separated from it.

Final deliverables included fully constructed packaging comps containing the products, along with properly preflighted Illustrator/InDesign files featuring accurate dielines and fold lines. The result is a functional, playful, and system-driven rebrand that reflects Crayola’s identity while offering a fresh, contemporary take on its packaging.
